Have replacement U3 drive and need to do FULL drive restore

Question:
My U3 Drive crashed & I want to restore ALL backed up files.  Do I have to restore each individual file or can I restore all of the backed files?  How do you restore the entire drive?

Answer:
2 ways to approach this:  One is if you have a replacement drive already, then download Disk Hero for U3 and reinstall Disk Hero using your ORIGINAL USER NAME and PASSWORD combination from the first U3 disk.  Enter this data in the 3rd option on the screen = reinstalling on a new device.  Enter in e-mail address and hit next.   Then enter in a NEW name for this drive/device.  Once installed, right above the right side window there is a PULL DOWN list of your accounts - pick the old drive name and your data can then be retrieved.

If you do not have a replacement drive and just need the file loaded to a PC then do this:

On the PC you want the files dropped back into do the following:

  1. Go to http://www.diskhero.com and download the PC version of Disk Hero - the version for HOME USE and HOME OFFICE
  2. Go through the install and when it asks for a USER NAME and PASSWORD enter in your U3 original information in the 3rd option on the screen.  Enter an e-mail address if asked, hit next and enter in a NEW name for this PC not your U3 drive.
  3. Once installed, right above the right side window there is a PULL DOWN list of your accounts - pick the old drive name and your data can then be retrieved.  If you like you can always have Disk Hero remain on your PC and backup files in real-time from this point forward.

We hope this helps you get to your critical data which has been lost on the U3 drive.  We also hope you consider loading Disk Hero on all your PCs to make sure your data is backed up all the time without you having to remember to do any backups yourself.
