Question:
The files on my PC are not encrypted, but are encrypted by the U3 Sync process when they sync to the flash drive. This results in "nonsense names" on the encrypted files (and probably double encryption U3 Sync and Disk Hero) on the Diskk Hero backup. How can I backup the files to Disk Hero so that they (1) have the original file names and (2) can be downloaded by me or anyone with the Disk Hero password?
Answer:
The files on your U3 drive or on a PC are always compressed and then encrypted locally before the are backed up. Disk Hero encrypts the files and then stores the file on the backup servers encrypted till you view them through your secure web portal or retrieve them back to your local PC/U3 drive. There is no need for you to additionally encrypt them before Disk Hero backs them up, however some clients wish to encrypt the files before they are handed over to Disk Hero and that is not a problem. Disk Hero backs up whatever you have as a file and does not know if your files are additionally encrypted.
