"In my consulting business, new clients have usually come from word-of-mouth. Since 2000 I have had several websites, mostly because prospective clients expected me to have a website. These sites provided information about me when prospects were referred by my existing clients.
However, in 15 years I never received any new clients that found the website on their own and called me.
I needed some edits and updates in 2015 to my website which had been done by someone else, and I asked Wayne if he would do them. He did, but then he had some observations and questions - which lead to some additional changes. These changes included adding almost 50 testimonial letters to my site with small image thumbnails that linked to full sized pdf files.
The result was that I have two new clients this year FROM THE WEBSITE! As Wayne predicted, they did not read all 50 letters, but they read a few and could see how many there were.
